GRACE? Where in the scriptures is GRACE given without a willingness to obey? Can GRACE be available to those who are unwilling to obey God? Why am I still struggling with sin even when I have asked God to grant me GRACE? Is something amiss?
Discipleship 101 in the marketplace 5013 of 7000 – The obedient disciples of
Christ does not play around with GRACE to dabble into willful sin because it cost God His life. GRACE is damn right expensive!
Matthew 13:47-52
47 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a dragnet that was cast into the sea and gathered some of every kind,48 which, when it was full, they drew to shore; and they sat down and gathered the good into vessels, but threw the bad away.
49 So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come forth, separate the wicked from among the just,50 and cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”51 Jesus said to them, “Have you understood all these things?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.”52 Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”
Matthew 7:21-23
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
John 1:17
17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Romans 1:5
5 Through Him we have received GRACE and apostleship for OBEDIENCE to the faith among all nations for His name,
Romans 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that GRACE may abound?
11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts.13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under GRACE.15 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under GRACE? Certainly not!
16 Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered.22 But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Comment: I have no capacity to live right. Only God has that capacity to whom He imputes it. That was why Jesus came and died. I have just one thing to do daily and it is a sincere willingness to obey by faith in Him, then He meets me with GRACE. This GRACE then helps me to avoid sin and not live in it or be a slave to it. Jesus is coming very, very shortly for the obedient disciples and not church goers. Am I ready? are you ready? Are we ready? This is our TIME for self-assessment and self-confrontation because the verdict is either heaven or hell in eternity. My time here on earth for 25 years, 50 years, 100 years, 150 years is but a dot in eternity. Let us make a date with Jesus TODAY. Lord, I make a commitment to OBEY you in ALL, grant me GRACE to do in Jesus name, amen. How about you?
