Introduction.
I welcome you to this new month, wishing you all-round success!
This is today’s series of Otakada.org Monday Morning Motivational and Inspirational Quotes and Real Life Real Success Stories for The Marketplace Series 7 of 52.
We don’t just bring you the motivation but also the tools and resources for all-round success!
At Otakada.org, we bring YOU over 2 million products and services for All Round Success all in one place! There is more to life than accumulation, success or failure.
Last week in series 6 of 52, we explored the 80/20 principle. Also known as the Pareto Principle, this rule suggests that 20 percent of your activities will account for 80 percent of your results. We look at this from scripture and life applications. You can read this via this link below if you missed the last series.
This week, we are exploring the need to profile your target audience base or niche (Target Market, Target Pews, Target Customer, Ideal Customer, Target Partners, Target Products, Target Services, Target Followers, niche, Niche market, etc) for maximum inspiration, motivation and fulfilling resultant outcomes.
You need to niche down or profile down your market segment – A niche in the market is a specific area of marketing which has its own particular requirements, customers, and products. … Your niche is the job or activity which is exactly suitable for you. You are wired for a specific assignment and a specific set of people. God is not confused.
This week, in this post also, we bring you three revolutionary tools to help you define, develop and grow your offline/online business and ministry endeavors in any market or mission field you find yourself. The first tool will equip you with the marketing know-how for online and offline business including practical tools which you can apply. The second tool will help you nail down contact details of decision makers in the target market you have defined and the third tool will help you get the message, pass the door-keepers to the decision maker’s domain… check out the link below after the main message..
On the need for profiling or niche definition or profiling, there is nothing as demotivating as to try to meet the need of everyone. The fact of the matter is that you cannot satisfy everyone. Too many people, too many companies, too many products, too many markets – You need to niche down or profile down your market segment
Get to those who resonate with you and you resonate with them. You need to look for this group of people to whom you are passionately, passionate to serve with accompanying growth indicators.
Ask yourself questions like, “whose pain or whose needs resonate with me that I am willing, able to come up with a particular product or service to satisfy that niche?”
or
“Who are those who are passionately and eagerly waiting to receive my product and services?”
As a customer or a member or an employee of any system, structure or organization, ask yourself, “whose message, whose value system, whose products or services or whose personality resonate with me?”
Find them, and give them all you have got and you will experience a sky rocking satisfaction, joy, motivation, strength, inspiration and eventually, success to attaining your goals.
Let’s Look Into the Holy Books for real life examples we can learn from:
Scripturally speaking, we have loads of example from our master, Jesus Christ.
Hear Him, learn and apply to your specific situation as a business man, a missionary, a pastor, a teacher, a board member or any kind of leader or as a follower or customer or employee: –
Luke 4: 16-22
16-21 He came to Nazareth where he had been reared. As he always did on the Sabbath, he went to the meeting place. When he stood up to read, he was handed the scroll of the prophet Isaiah. Unrolling the scroll, he found the place where it was written,
God’s Spirit is on me;
he’s chosen me to preach the Message of good news to the poor,
Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and
recovery of sight to the blind,
To set the burdened and battered free,
to announce, “This is God’s year to act!”
He rolled up the scroll, handed it back to the assistant, and sat down. Every eye in the place was on him, intent. Then he started in, “You’ve just heard Scripture make history. It came true just now in this place.”
22 All who were there, watching and listening, were surprised at how well he spoke. But they also said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son, the one we’ve known since he was a youngster?”
Comment:
In the above scripture, Jesus defined His target market and referenced it from the old testament prophesy about Him. Observe that not everyone who heard this declaration agreed with it. It is not about agreement with everyone, it is about profiling who you are sent to.
Matthew 15:22-28 The Message (MSG)
Healing the People
21-22 From there Jesus took a trip to Tyre and Sidon. They had hardly arrived when a Canaanite woman came down from the hills and pleaded, “Mercy, Master, Son of David! My daughter is cruelly afflicted by an evil spirit.”
23 Jesus ignored her. The disciples came and complained, “Now she’s bothering us. Would you please take care of her? She’s driving us crazy.”
24 Jesus refused, telling them, “I’ve got my hands full dealing with the lost sheep of Israel.”
25 Then the woman came back to Jesus, went to her knees, and begged. “Master, help me.”
26 He said, “It’s not right to take bread out of children’s mouths and throw it to dogs.”
27 She was quick: “You’re right, Master, but beggar dogs do get scraps from the master’s table.”
28 Jesus gave in. “Oh, woman, your faith is something else. What you want is what you get!” Right then her daughter became well.
Comment: Who were the lost sheep of Israel? They were the sinners, tax-collectors, harlots, and backslidden among the Jewish people—the “secular Jews” of the day who had abandoned Torah and the religion of their fathers.
If you are really sent to a particular set of people, at a particular time or space or place, it is possible that your schedule is full. Look for those hungry to get what you have and give them all that God has deposited in you for them. Here she profiled ( Niched down his target audience)
Mark 6:2-6 The Message (MSG)
Just a Carpenter
6 1-2 He left there and returned to his hometown. His disciples came along. On the Sabbath, he gave a lecture in the meeting place. He made a real hit, impressing everyone. “We had no idea he was this good!” they said. “How did he get so wise all of a sudden, get such ability?”
3 But in the next breath they were cutting him down: “He’s just a carpenter—Mary’s boy. We’ve known him since he was a kid. We know his brothers, James, Justus, Jude, and Simon, and his sisters. Who does he think he is?” They tripped over what little they knew about him and fell, sprawling. And they never got any further.
4-6 Jesus told them, “A prophet has little honor in his hometown, among his relatives, on the streets he played in as a child.” Jesus wasn’t able to do much of anything there—he laid hands on a few sick people and healed them, that’s all. He couldn’t get over their stubbornness. He left and made a circuit of the other villages, teaching.
Comment: Our capabilities and abilities skyrocket when we are in the right community of profiled, niched target market. You are less effective where you are tolerated. Go to where you are celebrated. Go to where you are needed. Go to where your product, services, mission, assignment is highly coveted.
Now, hereunder is the most laser-tight, customer-focused, customer profiled, niched passage I have ever seen coming directly from our maker, God..
John 3:16-18 The Message (MSG)
16-18 “This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, ANYONE can have a whole and lasting life. God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who TRUSTs in him is acquitted; ANYONE who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person’s failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.
God loves the whole wide world but PROFILES the whole world based on the following criteria:
- Son is INTRODUCED to the person
- The person BELEIVES in the Son
- The person ACCEPT and TRUST in the Son
The satisfaction He offers from the person who buys into the Son are as follows:
- Lasting, Everlasting Life.
- Help in time of need.
- Right living to honors God.
- Love that is not dependent on shifting circumstances.
- No destruction at the final day of judgment when everything will be cross-examined and final destination determined.
Apostle Paul was sent to the Gentle world. Peter was sent to the Jews but that does not mean if Peter find a Gentile who needs salvation, he would not minister to them. Paul ministered to the Gentles but also ministered to the Jews at some point before niching or profiling down the target market. Profiling help to guide us to the focal point of our assignment and as we serve those people, others who are not in the focal point will also benefit thereby. Jesus came for the jews and through them the Gentiles where crafted in. Read Romans 11:11-31… 16 If the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole lump, and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
Niching down does not mean other left out are not important. In serving the few, you touch the whole. Other people are well prepared to serve others.
Learning Point: We are saved to serve OTHERS – But we must be precise in profiling or niching down at the OTHERS we are sent to! It is in this particular niched down OTHER(S) that our satisfaction, joy, motivation and inspiration emanate.
On three different occasions the Lord has spoken to me concerning my assignment in the different encounters. In each of the encounters, it was all about the Church – the body of believers in Christ. I am burdened by their pain. I encourage and equip them to engage with one another and remain united beyond denominational affiliations; I encourage them to witness and provide the tools; I create opportunity for discipleship while providing tools for that; I encourage them to engage the market place and be the light and the salt; I provide tools to help them succeed in the marketplace; in business; in politics; in relationship and all else that touches the body of believers using the Otakada.org platform. As I do that, people who are not part of the Church of Jesus Christ benefit from my engagement with the Church wherever they may be. My playing field is in cyberspace via Otakada.org and our social media handle and offline as and when the need arises. In the Church niche, which is really large, He was specific in niching it down to leaders – Leader’s at home, in the office, in the church, in politics etc. As I do that, others outside the niche are also touched by my engagement.
Questions for discussion, reflection and application:
- What have you learnt today on profiling that you never knew before now?
- How did Jesus profile His target audience? How are you profiling yours?
- How do you relate the above story to your specific situation and what will you apply today going forward that you have never applied before?
In conclusion,
I leave you with this
Nehemiah 8:10 The Message (MSG)
10 He continued, “Go home and prepare a feast, holiday food and drink; and share it with those who don’t have anything: This day is holy to God. Don’t feel bad. The joy of God is your strength!”
We find strength in the place of joy…joy comes serving the people God has pointed you to. So serve with Joy which God provides as a result of trust and obedience
