This week, we are exploring the need for a regular exercise programs to fuel continual motivation. Discover 8 Ways Regular Exercise Boosts Productivity and Overall Motivation Levels For All Round Success. I am not talking about fly-by-night, when-I-feel-like-it and once-in-a-while exercise but exercise that has become a program that runs unhindered no matter what comes up on the schedule.
Regular exercise program has been proven to reduce stress, lower feelings of anxiety & depression, boost self-esteem and improve sleep. And within the workplace, this can translate to you feeling happier, healthier and more motivated to spur you on to all-round success.
The fact of the matter is that..
…There are more than 100,000 miles or the equivalent of 160,934.4 Kilometers of blood vessels in your body… In your body!!! – Think about that.
Also, Humans shed about 600,000 particles of skin every hour with or without an exercise program.
In Genesis 2: 7,15– “The time came when the Lord God formed a man’s body from the dust of the ground and breathed into it the breath of life. And man became a living person. The Lord God placed the man in the garden of Eden as its gardener, to tend and care for it .”
God gave us the body and it is our responsibility to maintain or tend it, not casually, but through regular maintenance of our over 160, 000 kilometer of blood vessel highway and to keep the heart in top notch bumping fitness. It’s not just about weight-loss or weight-gain, it’s all about all-round-fitness.
Every week, I cover 32 kilometers in 5 hours Plus in two stretch combining running and walking in each stretch. This regular exercise activity fuels my productivity which fuels my motivation. I derive inspiration when I exercise. I started with incremental goals of 5km, then 9km, 22km and now 32km weekly.

1) Feel Good moods
The happier you are, the more productive you can be. Depression is linked to low levels of certain “feel-good” chemicals in the brain including serotonin and dopamine. Regular exercise has been shown to boost levels of these chemicals, and by doing so can help to improve mood. I can attest to this.
2) Illness prevention
There’s a considerable amount of research to show that regular, moderate exercise enhances the immune system. This can help reduce your risk of developing certain types of illness, particularly upper respiratory tract infections and colds. Which means fewer sick days off work! I can attest to this. I hardly fall sick.
3) Increased energy levels
Exercise can improve your muscle strength and boost endurance, giving you the energy you need to think clearly, stay focused and come up with new and innovative ideas.
It has also been shown that regular physical activity effects energy production at a cellular level, giving a boost to the cell’s powerhouses in the brain and helping it to work more efficiently. I can attest to this. Energy level go sky-high after every exercise campaign.
Studies have shown that even short bursts of exercise can help to keep your mind brisk and alert. When you exercise, you are increasing blood flow to the brain, which can help sharpen your awareness and keep you focused on the task in hand. I can attest to this. My alertness level is to the seconds.
Exercise stimulates the brain’s pituitary gland to release chemicals called endorphins. These endorphins trigger a euphoric feeling, often referred to as a “runner’s high” (non-runners don’t worry, this can occur with any form of aerobic exercise!)
The release of these endorphins occurs approximately 20-30 minutes from the start of exercise, and can help to spur you on, both during exercise and in the office afterward. I attest to this. I am more motivated to finish up my task which flows into my goals, which flows into my vision.
6) Keeps you mentally sharp
Exercise stimulates the generation of new neurones, a process called neurogenesis, by boosting levels of BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor). BDNF not only promotes new neurones, but also protects existing neurones due to its reparative effects, and this can help promote a sense of clarity. I attest to this.
7) Improves memory
Researchers found that regular aerobic exercise appears to boost the size of the hippocampus, the brain area involved in memory and learning. I attest to this. I rarely forget.
8) Stress management
Regular exercise has been shown to decrease overall levels of tension, improve sleep and boost self-esteem. It is thought that even five minutes of aerobic exercise can stimulate anti-anxiety effects. I attest to this. When I stressed, I run. When I run, stress have no option but to depart.
