Daily Scripture Reading 2018 English version In PDF Version by Student Christian Movement

As a Continent, Africa is in dire need of a particular kind of leadership in all spheres of human endeavor. The high cost of incompetent leadership or smart but corrupt cum evil leadership that the continent has been paying over centuries has to be reversed. History reminds us that this is possible and can be done within a generation. We believe this task is for this generation. Light is arising in the midst of despondency, darkness and fear. This edition of the Daily Scripture Reading is our contribution to this process. We are trusting it will contribute to the shaping and production of godly students, youth, men and women who have the sacred privileges of leading families, educational institutions, corporate businesses, churches and

organs of governance and social enterprises world over.

This 2018 DSR is unique in many ways. Not only does it become our very first publication aligning with our 2018 – 2022 strategic plan as a Movement, but it also births the re- strengthening of our collaboration bond with World Student Christian Federation (WSCF) -Africa Region, the launching of our French Edition, and the intentional focus of our Movement Building and Mission Department’s effort to specific people, group in Northern Nigeria and Northern Africa. It’s the dawn of a season for new missions.

We thank God for this great privilege and joy to witness another year. God’s grace has brought us far and it will keep us going. 2017 is gone and will never come back and

2018 is right here before you, get the best out of it; it’s your year. I am excited to welcome you with this powerful devotional material in your hand, “DSR 2018”.

The theme for this year’s Daily Scripture Reading (DSR) is GODLINESS IS PROFITABLE and loaded with the mind of God for us. Paul the apostle proclaimed that great is the mysteries of godliness (1 Timothy 3:16). I am glad to share with you that this year edition is a quality material for daily devotional and as a teaching guide for group discussion, bible study, campus fellowship and church meetings. The contents are soul touching and life transforming. As you journey with us this year in reading this devotional, you will not just experience all round godliness, you will enjoy its profits. Your affirmation will be “Godliness is profitable”.

After a very long season, we are blessed to have contributions from the African Regional Desk of the WSCF to make this DSR available to the Federation Family in over 96 countries. We remained honoured to have the foreward written by Dr. William M. Wilson, President of Oral Roberts University. This signifies our growing Partnership with this primer godly institution whose records in raising National and Generational impactful leaders has become legendary. A new source for understanding some deeper meanings of the Hebrew language and its use in scriptural reflections here came from Jonathan Cahn’s “The Book of Mysteries”. We are very grateful for its enriching guidance.

We wish to particularly thank all our contributors for the

quality work and reflection given in all the reading notes, Rev Eric Ighalo, Pst. Justus Otegbade, Prof. Amos Balami, Pst. Andrew Igiri, Pst. Harold Ikewueze, Lucky Obasuyi, Dare Ajongbo, Temperance Anaughe, Olushola Odebunmi, Raymond Bisong, Susan Dare, Chisara Amanetu, Victor Oyesina and Paul Amole, among others. We appreciate the management of Oral Robert University for their advert placement and the foreword of this year’s edition.

To the board of Trustees, National Executives, State Executives, Senior Friends, Staff, Branch executives as well as the members of this great movement, we say thank you, for all your prayers and support.

I encourage you to make good use of this material. Remember that you are the reason we produced this material; this automatically makes you part of our team. Make this book your companion; gifts to friends, families and loved ones; souvenir in occasions and ceremonies. Your testimonies, contributions and other feedbacks are welcome. We look forward to hearing from you sooner or later. Remain blessed. OH LORD, BLESS OUR MOVEMENT…
