Genesis – Rediscovering God Afresh in ebook by Chinedu Oranye

by Chinedu Oranye, Otakada.org

“The greatest need of today is a Church that’s radically passionate and unapologetic about Christ. ‘Ice-cream Christians’ who live primarily for personal pleasure and prosperity have done more harm to Biblical Christianity than any outside influence could have achieved. Our call is to return the Church to an extreme and unequivocal focus on Christ and the Cross, which will automatically lead to an overflow of Truth and Light in our decaying and pluralistic world that has lost all sight of Truth.”

Introduction

GENESIS, rediscovering God afresh is a product of my hunger and experience of God in my devotional times. Many years ago, I felt the Lord nudging me to keep track of His dealings with me and revelations to me in Scriptures. And as I started growing in this discipline, it became apparent that what God was showing me in those quiet moments were not just for me, but also for a larger audience in His Church. I began to sense that God wanted me to share some of these truths with His Body, and many of the burdens and insights I received from God became topics for my itinerant teaching ministries as well as content for the Restless Pilgrim Devotional (RPD) Series. This book is from that Series.

This particular devotional takes you back into the heart of the beginnings of God’s programs and interfaces with Man. The devotion will take you on a journey of discovery and wonder, as you watch the acts of God and the deeds of men, interplay and interact – churning up spiritual lessons for the hungry soul to ponder on and pray about. These are first of all, God’s words to me and if you don’t feel they apply to you, kindly disregard. However, my candid counsel will be to read the devotions for each day very meditatively and use the prayers for each day as a guide to the deeper prayers you need to make. St. Augustine said of God, “Thou has formed us for Thyself, and our hearts are restless till they find rest in Thee.” May our hearts remain restless from the vanity and empty distractions of our generation, and may we find our rest only in God our Creator, for whom we were created and for which reason Christ came to redeem us.

My prayer is that this simple devotion may ignite in you, a fresh desire and a new experience in discovering God.

Chinedu Conrad Oranye is a restless pilgrim.
Having been saved from the pits of a very corrupt, rebellious, cultic, and polluted lifestyle in 1991, he has dedicated the rest of his life to pursue and to seek after the Lord Jesus. This craving for God has become an insatiable hunger to grow in the knowledge of God and it has continued to push him forward to share the knowledge of Christ with the lost. Another consuming passion in his heartis to stir Chris- tian believers away from the emptiness of worldly and carnal Chris- tianity. He is burdened to see a Church that is radically and unapolo- getically pursuing after the Living God Himself – the God who is available and waiting to encounter those who seek Him in spirit and in truth.

Chinedu Oranye serves as a leader and minister with Calvary Ministries CAPRO (www.capromissions.org). He is also an interna- tional faculty member with the Haggai Institute for Advanced Lead- ership (www.haggai-institute.com).
