Survivor 2: (Interjecting) “Make sense? The world’s gone, man. There’s nothing left to make sense of.”
Alex: “There’s always something left. We can rebuild, start over. What’s your name?”
Survivor 3: (Weakly) “Rebuild? With what? Everything’s destroyed, everyone’s gone…”
Alex: “Not everyone. You’re still here. I’m still here. There’s hope in that. My group and I, we’re gathering survivors, trying to find a safe place.”
Survivor 1: “A safe place? Does such a place exist now?”
Alex: “It has to. We’ve heard rumors of a settlement up north. It’s supposed to be secure, with resources and a chance for a new beginning.”
Survivor 2: “Rumors, huh? And what if it’s just that, rumors?”
Alex: “Then we’ll find somewhere else, or make one. We can’t give up. That’s not how humanity has survived this long.”
Survivor 3: “And what if we don’t want to come with you? What if we want to stay here?”
Alex: “That’s your choice. But I don’t think staying here will do you any good. It’s only a matter of time before the raiders or the radiation sickness…”
Survivor 1: (Interrupting) “Okay, okay. We get it. How do we know we can trust you, Alex?”
Alex: “You don’t. But right now, I’m the only one offering a way out of this place. I can’t force you to come, but I won’t leave you behind if you want to join us.”
