         About the Book – The Essence of Human Existence
The concept of dependence, independence and interdependence has been taken to the extreme to the point that it affects human existence. The extremity has redefined the meaning of human existence, and thereby denied humanity the real essence. In this book, there is an exploration of what those terms (independence, dependence, and interdependence) really mean, and a diagnosis of their impact on human existence.
If there is anything that the study of Philosophy, especially, Phenomenology, as a subject, has done for me as a human being, it is that it has helped me to embrace the true meaning of existence. Philosophy has empowered me to not take anything at face-value, especially, things that require some analytical and logical evaluation. It has also given me greater understanding of the interactions that exist between the phenomenal and the noumenal. It has led me to give thoughts to that which unifies hu- mans and the pursuit of a life that would be better than what we live presently. In the world that is full of discord and rancor, Philosophy has engaged me in the search and pursuit of that which can lead to the common goal of our existence that can be more tolerable, or even better yet, be more conducive. While a utopian existence might be out of reach by humans, it is very pertinent to discover alternatives that can be more attainable. These thoughts have led me to the discovery exercise as displayed in these few pages that attempt to examine human existence and what could give or have given it the well-deserved meaning.
The thought process that set me to embark on this heuristic journey, which is on-going, came from a simple analysis of what ‘independence’ really means.
