I didn’t say end, but I said, “diminish”. This is not time to throw caution to the wind yet because it is not over. Secondly, for us Christians, God wants us to dig deeper roots in Him – It is our time for serious preparation- This is not time to run around like Martha who was so busy with serving Jesus but had no relationship with Jesus read Luke 10:40-42. I see that some countries have begun opening up churches and public places as the threat are radically reduced. I counsel the body of believers to take inventory of what worked during the lockdown as you meet, what didn’t work, and should it happen again, what will be the best strategy going forward. I will also encourage you all to use this opportunity to bond with your brothers and sisters in the faith and strengthen those that were impacted negatively by the lockdown because this is a very short window as lockdown will be reintroduced very, very shortly because the pandemic is not yet over. It will pick up again. To understand how to pray about the pandemic and God’s intervention, we must ask ourselves what is God’s plan? What side is God on so that we can pray His heart? It is pretty much ok to ask God for mercy and at the same time, it is critically important to ask God to deal with the state of our hearts, asking Him to show us who we are so we can know our true state and repent sincerely. Prophetically, I must say that God has permitted this for the purification of His bride – the Church, He is watching His children as the pandemic rages to see genuine repentance and a return to Him. He wants the Golden calves – Idols (Exodus 32) we have erected in the center of our hearts to come down and bow to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in our hearts. I did not say He caused it, I said He permitted it. Who caused it and where it came from is immaterial and of less significance compared to what He wants achieved by it was what we should focus on so that we can derive the benefit that accrue as a result of the setback. Just like Jesus death should be more important to us than who killed Him. Hence, His statement Jesus made on the cross that, “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34 This is not a time for celebration but a time of consecration – Separation, setting oneself aside as a vessel of honor unto God that He can use for His good purpose in this end time.
